Fall Photography Contest at Observatoire de la Capitale

Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec is holding a photography contest that runs until November 2, 2009. Prizes will go to two shots taken from Observatoire de la Capitale showcasing the theme of fall colors in Québec City.  

One prize will go to a digital color photo taken from atop the observatory by a contestant under the age of 18 and another will go to a contestant aged 18 or older.  

Prizes

Winners will receive a “Panoramic Visa,” which gives unlimited access to the observatory for one year, as well as a publication by Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec. A selection committee will determine the two winning photos from all the photos received.   

How to enter

Email us your photos at info@observatoirecapitale.org by 9 a.m.on November 2, 2009. Contestants may submit a maximum of three digital color photos in JPEG format of less than one Mb each and must also include their first and last name, full mailing address, email address, age, and telephone number. The photos submitted must feature the theme of fall colors in Québec City. Shots that do not meet these criteria or that are deemed inappropriate will be rejected. The photos submitted cannot have already been published. All contestants must certify that they are the author of the photos submitted and authorize Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec to publish them on its website, along with photo credits (CCNQ, name of the photograph), for non-commercial use.  

The contestants who submit the winning photos will be contacted by email on November 2, 2009.    

All the photos received will then be posted online in the observatory’s photo gallery at www.observatoirecapitale.org .  

An exceptional view

At an altitude of 221 meters, the observatory offers visitors a unique panoramic view of the Québec City area. The observatory, which is located on the 31st floor of the Marie-Guyart building at 1037 rue De La Chevrotière, in Québec City, is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Starting October 13, it will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
