Observatoire de la Capitale featured in the book Le Québec à couper le souffle

In the heart of Parliament Hill and just a stone’s throw from Old Québec, Observatoire de la Capitale offers what is without a doubt the most beautiful—and highest—view of Québec City.

In his book entitled Le Québec à couper le souffle, 100 belvédères pour comprendre nos paysages, Henri Dorion confirms just how unique this panoramic view is, calling it one of the province’s most spectacular viewpoints.

“Luckily, there is a place where you can see the capital’s urban landscape in its entirety or focus in on specific areas. In other words, you can take it all in at once or zoom in for a closer look. Just head up to Observatoire de la Capitale, designed, created, and managed by Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec.”

In addition to Observatoire de la Capitale, there are a number of viewpoints around Québec City, including at Mont Gibraltar (Vallée Bras-du-Nord, Portneuf) and at Mont du Midi (Parc régional du Massif-du-Sud, Chaudière-Appalaches). The 100 viewpoints compiled in this book were chosen for their particular geohistoric significance and because they are among Québec’s most beautiful.

Published by Éditions de l’Homme and beautifully illustrated with photos by Pierre Lahoud, this book is available in bookstores for $39.95.
